תקציר
Presents a brief account of the development of antisemitism in Europe, from the time of the Church Fathers through the 19th century. Quotes from works of historians and theologians who wrote about antisemitism in the late 19th-early 20th centuries, and discusses its religious, socioeconomic, and racist expressions. Asserts that antisemitism is a phenomenon rooted in a religious psychological complex, which takes over the consciousness of the antisemite. This complex, which includes lies, hatred, negative representations and prejudices, accumulated throughout history as an appendage to the original religious core of antisemitism. Antisemitism is a myth, an unproved narrative against the Jew. Any conflicting situation - social, political, or economic - in which the Jews might be involved could activate this mythological complex into a violent response against them.
