A REDISH SANDSTONE STATUETTE OF A KNEELING MAN HOLDING A VESSEL
Middle Kingdom, XII Dynasty, in the time of Amenemhat III, 1842 – 1793 BCE. Height: 13.3 cm, base: 15.5x9.5 cm. Part of the torso and the head are missing. Inscribed on the front part of the skirt and on the upper part of plinth: “A gift which (the king) gives to the petty official of the treasury Renefseneb”. Acquired by the collector in 1974 at Serabit el-Khadim in Sinai. In fair condition. Published by Raphael Giveon in: Israel Exploration Journal, Vol. 34:2-3, 1984, pp. 154-5. (Auction 62:354).
