Collection of [10] Letters by Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary, Son-in-Law of the Admo"r the Rayya"tz and Brother-in-Law of the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson

Important collection of letters written by leaders of Chaba"d and the right hand of the Admo"r, the Raya"tz. 1935-1951.

10 letters written by Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary, son-in-law of the Admo"r the Raya"tz.

* Two letters from Otovotzk where the Admo"r the Rayya"tz was staying, on the official stationery of the World Union of Chaba"d Chassidim and Temimim. The letters are to the managers of the Torat Emet yeshivah in Jerusalem, about appointments in the yeshivah. The two letters begin: I hereby announce to whom it may concern, that my father-in-law Admo"r shlit"a has been so kind as to appoint ...

* Two important and interesting letters that were sent to Rabbi Chanoch Havlin of Jerusalem about his receiving a certificate for his immigration to Jerusalem. In one of them he writes: I still do not know when I will immigrate to our Holy Land. As is known, he immigrated alongside his father-in-law.

* Two letters to Rabbi Chanoch Havlin of Jerusalem about a request to arrange a certificate for his brother R' Yisrael Gurary. One letter was written in 1940 and in it it is written that it is truly a matter of life and death. Rabbi Yisrael Gurary was killed in the Holocaust.

* Letter from the United States that was sent several months after the passing of his father-in-law, the Admo"r the Raya"tz, in which he writes about printing the Admo"rs letters.

* Letter of greetings from 1951.

* Letter about assisting the Torat Emet yeshivah in Jerusalem, from 1951.

* Lengthy letter of two pages, as chairman of the executive committee of the Tomchei Temimim yeshivahs, which was sent to the Torat Emet yeshivah in Jerusalem, about the yeshivah's budget and funds. It should be noted that the letter is from Iyar 1951, several months after the appointment of the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel, however, in his letter he refers to the merit of my teacher and father-in-law the Admo"r, and there is no reference to the new Admo"r (!).

Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary (1898-1989), also known by the acronym of his name, the 'Rasha"g,' was the son-in-law of the Rebbe the Rayya"tz, brother-in-law of the Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel and the principal of the Tomchei Temimim yeshivahs.

* Letter by Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin, secretary of the Admo"r the Rayya"tz, Warsaw, 1935.

"Since in many matters I have suffered mental anguish from people saying things in my name, and the listener thinks that this is what is holiness said."

Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin (1895-1942) was the secretary of the Admo"r the Rayya"tz, nicknamed Chach'eh, was the underground principal of the Tomchei Temimim yeshivahs in the Soviet Union.
