Parchment scroll, with prayers in memory of the souls, Mi She-Berach for the Gaba’im to be recited after Yizkor and a list of the deceased names. "Ein mol fir die alle Harugim fun der Milchama, from the year 1917". [USA? the 1920’s].
The first page mentions the names of the president and the vice president in the prayer of “Mi She-Berach”.
Adorned frames, some of the deceased names were written at the beginning in fine calligraphy, and some of them later on, in simpler writing and with different pens. The last two columns mention women’s names. About 150 names in total.
About 250,000 Jews served in the USA military ranks during WWI, many of whom were young immigrants; approximately 3,500 lost their lives and about 120,000 were injured.
8 columns, (2 of which are on a supplementary sheets). Total size 112X25 cm. Good condition. Comes in an old cardboard and leather cylinder
