Manuscript including three Megilot, Shir Hashirim, Ruth and Kohelet, with Rashi, translations and the Shema Shlomo commentary. Includes the Tikun Leil Shavuot and the Idra Rabba. [Yemen, 19th century]. [Never printed?].
A handwritten Arabic translation appears in the page borders (the handwriting is different) besides the Targum Yonathan (Aramaic translation).
The “Shema Shlomo” commentary is a compilation of the greatest commentators: The Chida, author of Nachal Eshkol and Chomat Anakh; the author of Chavat Yair, the author of Nefesh David and many more with the addition of the “Panim Chadashot” [by the author’s father?].
The author of the book apparently is Rabbi Shlomo Gispan from Sana’a, who is the son of Rabbi Yehuda Gispan who was one of the Maharitz’s disciples, author of the “Minchat Yehuda” [with the “Panim Chadashot”]. See enclosed material.
In the Yemenite Scholars Encyclopedia (Part 1, pages 63-64) it is written that this essay was written in 1867. More similar manuscripts are known in several libraries.
