Certificate from Gedalia and Chaim from the city of MoineֵŸti (Romania). Addressed to the rabbis of Constantinople, as recommendation for financial support for R' Chaim son of R' Yosef Zvi, on his way to settle in Eretz Israel. MoineֵŸti, Tamuz 1882.
"To the Rav Hagaon Crown of Israel and its Gloryג€¦ in the city of Constantinopleג€¦"; "Since all beginnings are difficult and how much more so such an undertaking where the traveling expenses are so great, and the great cost of moving to settle in the land whose people and their customs and all their dealings are all strange to him, and he is forced to take assistance from people who will support him with money and counsel, therefore I have given him this document to approach Your Glorious Honorג€¦". Rich flowery language, fancy scribal writing. In 1882, a group of people in the city of MoineֵŸti prepared to immigrate to Eretz Israel, to settle in Gei Oni, chosen by David Shub. Even HaPina whose name was later changed to Rosh Pina, was inaugurated on December 12, 1882. Leaf 33 cm, fair condition. Tears to margins and folding lines with minor text damage. Original leaf is pasted on a simple leaf of paper.
