Play in four acts. Venue of events: Vienna, 1893. Written under the impact of the Dreyfus Affair which Herzl covered as a journalist. The center of the plot is a converted Jewish lawyer who tries to leave the social ghetto which was forced on the Jews in the West, but failed. His death at the end of the play was meant to serve as a warning that the situation of Western Jews is no longer bearable. [3], 100 pp, 21.5 cm. Good condition. Stains, mainly to title page.
