* “Hebrew world calendar… demonstrating that the calculation of the Jewish nation is the correct one and the calculation of the non-Jews has no basis. Chart of new moons and seasons, from creation of the world until year 2235. Preface containing basis of calculation of Hebrew calendar preceding chart. Following chart: ‘Genealogy of Adam and Chava’ – list of descendants from Adam until recent generations, including ‘genealogy of the Ba’al Shem Tov’ – list of disciples of the Ba’al Shem Tov and their disciples until generation of author.
* Chidushei Torah with which G-d endowed me and which I have heard from world renowned geniuses and righteous giants… I have named it Likutei Re’em”. 161 + 8 chapters, including concepts and manners of conduct from his rabbis, righteous Torah giants of his generation [see following] as well as his own Chidushim on weekly Torah portions, Nevi’im, Ketuvim, Aggadot of the Shas and prayer.
The exceptional character of the author, Rabbi Aharon Matityahu Welber (born in 1845, passed away post 1918), is apparent from the manuscript. Exalted Torah scholar, native of Munkacs, talented scribe who was proficient in matters of Massorah, Hebrew calendar and other fields. In his youth studied by the Maharam Shik and afterwards spent much time with righteous Torah giants of his generation. His prominent rabbi was Rebbe Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Zidichov. He was also closely associated with Rebbe Rabbi Yosef Meir of Spinka [author of Imrei Emet]. The manuscript contains facts, manners of conduct and Divrei Torah on behalf of these rabbis, as well as sayings which he heard from Rabbi Chaim Yosef Brukstein Av Beit Din of Pistin [disciple of Ba’al HaTanya], Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum of Sighet author of Yitav Lev, and Rebbe Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Komarna and more.
At the beginning of the manuscript Rabbi Aharon Matityahu copied letters and documents written to him by Torah giants of his generation, such as Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried, for whom Rabbi Aharon Matityahu proofread the second edition of his book ‘Keset HaSofer’, Rebbe Rabbi Yosef Meir of Spinka who requested that he write a Torah scroll for him, Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum of Siget author of ‘Yitav Lev’, who notes that Rabbi Aharon Matityahu proofread his Torah scroll, and more. End of manuscript contains birth and death listings as well as other family notations.
Biography of Rabbi Aharon Matityahu Welber as well as comprehensive collection of this manuscript were published in collection Tzfunot 9, Bnei Brak 1991, pp. 87-95. Many passages of the manuscript have not yet been printed.
