Matzah cover for the Passover Seder night. [England, beginning of 20th century].
Embroidered fabric, quality colored embroidery work, fringes.
Fan-like folding, between the folds the three Seder matzos were placed. Embroidered illustrations: Star of David with inscription "Shel Pesach", Seder table inscribed with the blessing made before eating a matzah and framed with leaves and flowers, and illustrations of the four sons: the wise, the wicked, the simple and he who does not know how to ask. The design of the sons was inspired by the Amsterdam Haggada.
