Leaf with a liturgical wedding poem. Akhaltsikhe, (Georgia), early 20th century. Cut out paper, cloth backed. Large leaf, cut out in the shape of the Tablets of the Law. Blessings, verses and a liturgical poem for a wedding. On the upper part of the leaf: "Kol Sasson veKol Simcha Kol Hatan veKol Kalah – veHakoreh Baruch". On both sides, vertically: "Baruch ata Bevoa'acha", "Baruch ata Betzetcha". Numerous verses related to marriage, a groom and a bride. On the lower left part of the leaf, an unknown liturgy (not mentioned in Davidsohn's "Otzar Hashira VeHapiut"; not found in other sources): Shalom Shalom Mishmey Meromim….Ya'akov Ish Tam Yoshev Ohalim…". A blessing is mentioned further in the liturgy: "Hu yevarech et Shalom ben Avraham Israel" (the groom?). The writer signed on the borders of the leaf. The leaf's origin is in the city of Akhaltsikhe, Georgia. 34X43 cm. Fair-poor condition, staining and moisture marks, rough tears and folding marks.
