The" Machzor", written in 1272, was used for hundreds of years in the synagogue of the Worms congregation until the destruction of the synagogue by the Nazis on Kristallnacht, on November 1938. The "Machzor" was saved by Worms' archivist, who concealed it in a cathedral. In 1957, the manuscript was transferred to The Israel National & University Library in Jerusalem.
