Ketubah recording the marriage of Avraham Ovadia ben David Yossef of Camerino with the bride Bronita bat Elyakim of Ancona. Pesaro, 1714.
Ketubah on parchment, with fine floral illuminations. This Ketubah was re-used as a book cover, therefore only its central part and three sections of the illuminated frame were preserved (upper part and four corners are missing).
The witnesses signatures appear on the bottom. First is Rabbi Netanel ben Meshulam Halevi, Pesaro’s rabbi (a foremost Italain scholar who also served as rabbi in Padua and Modena; his responsa were printed in the books “Pachad Yitzchak” and “Shemesh Zadka”) and the second witness is Yitzchak ben Avraham Abuhav (probably, a Moreh Zedek in Pesaro).
Ca.47.5X50 cm. Fair condition. Missing corners. Wear, creases, several tears (mainly on margins). Faded ink in some places. Several holes (without damage to text) and folding marks.
