Ketubah recording the marriage of the groom Elisha son of the "Avocato" Refael Nissim with the bride Simcha daughter of David Yosef HaLevi Valensin. Livorno, Italy, Cheshvan 1852.
Parchment ketubah. A rectangular ornamental border composed of verses of blessings.
The scribe of the ketubah is R. Avraham Baruch Piperno, who incorporates his name into the text of the ketubah.
The text of the tena'im is below the text of the ketubah and under both are the signatures of the witnesses (in Italian).
R. Avraham Baruch Piperno, a Livorno sage, author of Kol Ugav (Livorno, 1846), etc. Scribe of the Livorno community (see enclosed material).
