Collection of letters and documents regarding community matters, from the family archives of the directors of the Va'ad HaKlali in Jerusalem, R. Zalman Chaim Rivlin and his son-in-law, R. Eliahu Mordechai Eisenstein. Jerusalem, Europe and the United States, 19th and 20th centuries.
The documents include: * handwritten, signed document from R. "Yehoshua son of the rabbi of Ludza", appointing R. Zalman Chaim Rivlin and R. Aharon Krakinover as executors of his estate. Jerusalem, 1879. * Draft of a polemic (addressed to the "Hatzefira" newspaper) regarding R. Chaim Michlin and his son-in-law R. Michel Cohen and their fight against Bikur Cholim hospital and other Ashkenazi organizations after they were hired to fundraise for Misgav Ladach hospital and the Sephardic organizations. [Jerusalem, ca. 1890]. * Letter from the fundraiser R. Yaakov Moshe Brody. New York, 1892. * Draft of a letter from the Va'ad HaKlali to R. Yaakov Moshe Brody. Jerusalem, 1898. The letter mentions the dispute against R. Michel Cohen, fundraiser for Misgav Ladach hospital and the Sephardic organizations. * Draft of a letter from the Va'ad HaKlali to the administrators (possibly in the United States), regarding a donation from Eliyahu Rothschild. Jerusalem, 1894. * Letter regarding a shipment of etrogim from Eretz Israel. Pinsk and Davyd-Haradok, 1888. * Document regarding the estate of R. Levi Yitzchak Slonim of Hebron, signed by the assessors R. "Baruch Mordechai Halevi" and "R. Zalman Chaim Rivlin" and others. Hebron, 1895. Tears and damage. * Interesting letter from R. Zalman Chaim Rivlin regarding a Jewish woman married to a non-Jewish banker.
