Yossipon: Published by the Shapira Brothers, Zhitomir 1850
History of the Jews, Babylonian monarchy, Alexander the Great and his battles, and the wars of the Jews with the Romans, up until the destruction of the second temple, recounted in detail by Josiphus Ben Gurion HaKohen.
The Kitzur Shulchan Aruch (91) as well as the Mishnah Berurah (307:58) both write that Jossipon is not considered a secular book as it teaches morality and fear of Heaven, and it is thereby permitted to study it on Shabbos.
This copy was published in Zhitomir, 1850, by the Shapira Brothers: Chanina Lipa, Aryeh Leib and Yehoshua Heschel, grandchildren of Rabbi Moshe Shapira of Slavita, a son of Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz.
