Two books printed in Venice in the mid-16th century:
1. Sha'ar HaShamayim, on natural science, mathematics and astronomy, by Rabbi Gershon ben Solomon [father of the Ralbag]. Venice, [1547]. Printed by Me'ir Parenzo. First edition.
On the binding and on the leaves are signatures and ownership inscriptions. Among them: "Bought by Avraham HaCohen of Głogów ", "…Meir Eiger of Furth…" [halachic query from 1765 of Rabbi Meir Eiger of Furth is cited in the She'elat Ya'avetz responsa, Part 2, Siman 111].
2-64 leaves. Missing title page. 18 cm. Upper margins cut bordering text. Fair-good condition. Stains, worming. Worn contemporary binding, with damages and worming.
2. Tzakhot B'dikduk, by Rabbi Avraham Ibn Ezra. Venice, 1546. Printed by Daniel Bomberg. One of four compositions on grammar printed together under the title Dikdukim (with a separate title page for each composition). Ownership inscription (slightly erased) in Italian Hebrew writing: "Purchased by…R' Shmuel Sigari".
133-194 leaves. (Of [4], 51, 53-236 leaves). 14.5 cm. Glue restorations on title page. Stains, worming. Contemporary leather binding, with damages.
