Torah Shield. [Jerusalem, ca. 1912].
Low grade silver, cut and engraved.
Shaped as a shield topped with a Torah Crown. On the right and on the left side appear engraved ornamentations of columns; on the capitals appear images of ribbons and heads of birds of prey, and on their lower part - floral decorations. In the center of the shield appears the Ark of the Covenant, with Tablets of the Law placed on it, and a pair of angels depicted as birds with an engraved inscription: "Veshamartem et divrey HaTorah Hazot" and "Aron HaEdut". The Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock are engraved on the lower part of the shield. Chain for hanging.
Length: 36.5 cm, max. width: 27.5 cm. Good condition. Bends at margins.
