Four anti-Semitic works, bound together. Germany, 1663-1705.
· Der Gantze Jüdische Glaube [The Whole Jewish Faith], by Anton Margaritha. Leipzig, 1705. German.
Work on Jews and Judaism, mocking Jewish customs and raising various anti-Semitic accusations (the work greatly influenced German theologian Martin Luther when writing his treatise "On the Jews and their Lies"). [1] plate (engraving), [15] leaves, 360 pp, [12] leaves.
· Der Jüden Glaube und Aberglaube [The Jewish Faith and Superstitions], by Friedrich Albrecht Christiani. Leipzig, 1705. German and some Hebrew. Engraved frontispiece and eight engraving plates depicting Jewish attire and customs. [2], 88, 186, [10] pp + [9] plates.
· Ner LeRegel / Wegeleuchte Wieder die Jüdische Finsternißen, by Michael Haveman. Jena, 1663 (on first title page: Hamburg). German and some Hebrew. The first title page is an engraving incorporating illustrations of Moses and Aaron, a brit milah ceremony, and more. [31] leaves, 604 pp, [16] leaves.
· Beste Mittel zu Bekehrung der Juden [The Best Way of Converting the Jews], by Matthias Wasmuth. Frankfurt and Leipzig, 1694. German and Hebrew. Engraved frontispiece depicting converted Jews. 144 pp.
The four works are bound together. Volume: 16 cm. Good condition. Vellum binding from the period, stained, slightly damaged and loose. Engraving facing first title page partly detached. Leaves slightly dark. Small tears to margins of some leaves. Paper label on inner side of front binding and ink stamp on front endpaper.
