Machzor, according to Ashkenazi tradition [Italy], with Hadrat Kodesh commentary. Part 1, prayers for the entire year, every day, Shabbat and Holidays. Venice, [1599-1600]. Printed by Giovanni (Zuan) Di Gara in the printing press of Zuan Bragadini.
Printed at the end of the volume are mussar poems by Rabbi Hai Gaon and by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh (Leon) of Modena. On the back free endpaper are handwritten notes (in ancient Italian Hebrew script), including a historical note [cutoff and lacking] about a dispute which emerged on a market day between several Jews, residents of the city of Conegliano near Venice and several non-Jews.
(Lacking title page), 2-340 leaves. 30 cm. Fair condition. Stains and wear. Some leaves with tears and damages affecting the text (6-12, 44, 154, 277, 280-281). Candlewax and fire damages to the leaves of lamentations for Tisha B'Av. Damaged, worn, leather binding.
