Large Collection of Postcards, Photographs and Printed Materials – Synagogues Worldwide

Approx. 1550 postcards, photographs, printed cards and other graphic printed materials depicting synagogues around the world. Israel, USA, Europe and elsewhere, the second half of the 20th century (several earlier or later items).
The collection documents synagogues all over the world – in cities throughout the length and breadth of Europe, in the USA, Israel and the Mediterranean Basin, in North and South Africa, and more. Many of the postcards (as well as memorial albums and other items) were published in memory of synagogues and their communities which were destroyed and scattered, by museums, governments, communities and individuals.
The collection contains photographs of ancient and modern synagogues; synagogues that were destroyed and active synagogues; military synagogues; and more.
