The "Unforgettable Art" Association invites you to an experience of qualitative Israeli art by the best Israeli artists.
During the exhibition, an art auction will be held aiming to raise money for a grant fund for plastic artists in need, in accordance with the goals of the Association, which are: supporting artists in life-saving and life improving projects, assistance in raising funds for the purchase of food and medicine, assistance in financing medical treatment in Israel and abroad, including the purchase of medical devices and assistance to veteran artists and/or their families in the removal, storage, sale and perpetuation of their works.
Some items will not be displayed in the "Agam" gallery
You are invited to take part of this exciting project and to participate in the launching of the Association and in the Art Evening Auction.
The festive event will take place on Saturday night, 17.8.2019 at 19:30.

שמואל כ"ץ
צייר, מאייר וקריקטוריסט , נולד בוינה, אוסטריה בשנת 1926
יצירתו של כץ מאותה תקופה כללה בעיקר תיאורי נוף ודמויות של שוהים במחנה.
בשנת 1947 עלה לארץ ישראל ובאוקטובר 1948 היה ממקימי קיבוץ געתון שבו היה חבר עד אחרית ימיו.
לצד פעילות ענפה כאמן עסק בסיקור עיתונאי כמאייר בעיתונים כגון "במחנה", "דבר השבוע", "על המשמר" ו"משמר לילדים". סיקר מלחמות כמו גם שיחות שלום.
סגנון האיור שלו מאופיין בהומור וכולל שימוש בקווים גיאומטריים רכים, שילוב בין משטחי צבע לבין קו חופשי, ושימוש ברקע כחלק מרכזי בעיצוב הקומפוזיציה של היצירה. סגנון זה בא לידי ביטוי בייחוד בשורה של ספרי ילדים שעיצב כמו ספרי "חסמב"ה" מאת יגאל מוסינזון (1950-1953), "שעלול תעלול" מאת בנימין טנא (1962), "בולבול למה ככה?" מאת ע. הלל (1966) ו"דירה להשכיר" מאת לאה גולדברג (1970).
שמואל כ"ץ הציג בתערוכות יחיד רבות בארץ ובעולם וזכה במהלך הקריירה שלו בפרסים רבים, חלקם בינלאומיים, ביניהם פרס ראשון בביאנלה השניה של פאריז לרישום לאמנים צעירים (1961), פרס נורדאו לאמנות (1974), פרס עיריית תל אביב ע"ש נחום גוטמן (1985) ופרס "עיפרון הזהב" מטעם המוזיאון הישראלי לקריקטורה וקומיקס בחולון (2007).
