HaRem"a Responsa. Hanau, [1711] Includes the Well-Known Responsum which had been Omitted about "Stam Yeinam"

'Responsa authored by the great well-known gaon Rabbi Moshe Isserles ztz"l of Krakow' - greatest adjudicator of recent generations. His teachings were accepted by the entire Jewish Diaspora until it was said of him, "ובני ישראל יוצאים ביד רמ"א" [And the people of Israel went out (also: fulfilled their obligations) with a high hand (also: by way of the Ram"a)]. The lenient responsum about drinking "stam yeinam" which was omitted from later editions, and even from the Amsterdam edition printed the same year, is printed in Siman 124

Second edition. Heinrich Ya'akov Bashuysen Press. Hanau, 1710 [in the colophon and approbations, the year 1711 appears]. Printer's device in a beautiful woodcut.

[2], [2], 5-136 leaves, (the index leaves whose numbers are 137/138 were bound in all the copies at the beginning of the book, and the pagination begins with ה'). Quality paper. 21 cm. The binding is reinforced by two leaves of supplications in Yiddish-Deutsch. Ancient owner's signature, undeciphered.

Moderate-fine condition. Agings stains. Loss in the lower corners of the first leaves (without damage to text). Several leaves are detached. Worn binding, partly detached.
