Polizeiliche Vorschriften, hinsichtlich der Vornahme der jüdischen Beschneidung [Police Warrant, regarding the performance of Jewish circumcision]. [Germany?, mid- 19th century?), German.
An eight-clause warrant regulating the activity of Jewish mohalim (circumcisers), presumably in one of the duchies of Germany. The warrant addresses the requirement to be in possession of an official certificate of the duchy and the requirement to perform the first five circumcisions in a medical center, the authorities supervising the tools used during the ceremony, punishment in cases of violating the regulations and additional issues.
On the bottom of the first page there is a handwritten (German) inscription: "Dem Vorsteher Gumbrich Adler zu Hahnstätten zur Nachricht" [Notice to the head of Hahnstätten, Gumbrich Adler].
[2] leaves (two printed pages), 22.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Horizontal fold line. Stains and creases. Tears and open tears to margins, along the joining of the two leaves and along fold line (most of them small).
