Album with 41 photographs which had belonged to a Jewish policemen of the Palestine police. [Givat Adah and its vicinity, ca. 1936?].
The album contains photographs, most of them group photographs, documenting the way of life of the Jewish policemen of the Palestine Police Force. The photographs depict the policemen during training and practice, in orders, guard duty, at work, rest and on trips.
One of the photographs shows two rifles leaning on a wall, between them on the ground a helmet is placed and above them, there is a Hebrew inscription "Givat Adah, 1936".
The time of the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine was a turbulent time in the history of Givat Adah. In 1938, seven members of the settlement were killed. The Jewish guards of the Palestine Police Force took part in the defense of the Jewish settlements against Arab attacks.
41 photographs, arranged in the album using mounting corners. Size of photographs varies.
Size of album: approx. 19x13 cm. Good overall condition.
