A book in an album format in which hundreds of original photographs Scanned depicting Polish Jewry before and during the Holocaust. On the margins of the photographs is a description that was usually written by the photographer, the name of the photographer, and the location of the event. among: Photographs of groups and Jewish families, Jewish craftsmen, Jewish soldiers during the First World War, Jews in prayer shawls and phylacteries, Jewish institutions for boys and girls [ Rare photo of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin on the first day of the yeshiva, June 1930], charitable institutions, Jews in the streets, Jewish businesses, synagogues, Jewish children in Eastern European clothing, Zionist groups and more.

In the second part of the book, photographs from the Lodz ghetto were scanned in the first months controlled by the Nazis - the entrance bridge to the ghetto, the humiliation of Jews on the streets of the city, the mass deportations, and more. 

230 pages. 39 cm. On the Protective leaf is a dedication from the year of 1996. Hard cover, with original paper cover, stains in paper cover, fine condition.
