A comprehensive study of the customs of world religions, accompanied by hundreds of etchings. The first volume devoted in part to Jewish customs in Amsterdam and is accompanied by 27 engravings (mostly folded). Six of the drawings depict Jewish holidays and customs - raising a Torah scroll in the synagogue, a Jewish wedding, Purim, Baptism of women in the Mikvah, and more. Other volumes, in addition to etchings describing the customs of the various religions, include a number of etchings depicting the torture cellars of the Inquisition.
