German Family Strauss. Manuscript Stammbuch …Hirsch Herz Straus, Frankfurt am Main 1854 (note Straus with one s` not Strauss with double s`) . Not sure if this was actually written in 1854 as stated or was photo copied later. The book was bound in 1948 .Begins with Hirsch Herz Straus born in 1723 – all in one handwriting, and with additional notes. Together with a lovely Printed family tree chart glued on carton Frankfurt 1854 (done by Heinrich Joseph Straus in May 1854 in the Baist printing house in Frankfurt A.M.) with printed stickers of names – stem begins with same no. 1 Hirsch Herz Straus who married Jette Stiebel. The manuscript explains the names on the tree with their particulars. The chart corresponds to the Stammbuch. The Stammbuch has 71 written pages – catching up at one point to 1959 On page 28. Buch 1 ends on page 22 with no. 187 (Martin 1850) and 188 (Joseph 1852) - So the tree represents the period of 1723 to 1852 – the chart made in 1854. This is quite an amazing genealogy document of a Jewish German Family. Buch 2 opens on page 25 mentioning the year of 1880. Both book and the chart in fair condition. Book: 20 x 15 cm.
