Three medals with portraits of European dignitaries. Switzerland, Belgium and Germany. 18th and 19th centuries.
1. Medal with the portrait of Samuel Clarke (1675-1729), British mathematician and philosopher. Geneva, [18th century]. Obverse: portrait of Samuel Clarke. Reverse: a student climbing a mountain towards Truth. A sun is seen on top of the mountain with the Tetragrammaton in it. Surrounded by a Latin legend: "Quo Veritas Vocat" [when truth calls]. Signed: "J. Dassier. F.".
Diameter: 42 mm.
2. Medal struck in memory of Louis Jacobs (1803-1847), Belgian attorney, judge and Congress Member. [Belgium, 19th century]. Obverse: Louis Jacobs' portrait. Signed: Hart Fecit. [Laurant Hart]. Reverse: Dedication in French: "For his contribution to business, the arts, public education and industry", surrounded by a legend: "Congrès national, commission mixte de navigation, consiel communal d'anvers" [one of the Belgian congress committees in which Jacobs was active.].

3. Medal commemorating a folk festival, [Munich, 1892]. Obverse: portrait of Prof. Nussbaum [probably Johann Nepomuk von Nussbaum (1829-1890), a German physician from Munich]. A legend in German surrounds the portrait - "Volksfest der Vereinigten Münchener Radfahrer zu gunsten des Nussbaum Denkmals" [folk festival… a memorial for Nussbaum".
