Isidor Kaufman (1853-1921) was one of the greatest modern Jewish painters. He drew inspiration for his works from the everyday life of Jews in Eastern Europe.
Many of his paintings decorated the walls of Jews from the upper and middle classes in the cities of central and western Europe. In his paintings, Kaufman depicts a vibrant, rich world, including small details from the world of Jewish life, drawn with amazing precision.
