Ben-Tzion Wax was born in Tel Aviv in 1936. He was one of the biggest collectors in Israel.  He started collecting stamps at age 10, then coins, banknotes, famous signatures/autographs, art, judaica, old books, silver, and items pertaining to pre-State Israel.  Wax even collected unique birds, massive fish tanks and more.

In 1983 he moved with his family to Ramot HaShavim. Ben-Tzion Wax died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2017, in the backyard of his home, among the animals he took care of and loved.

Famous rabbis' signatures: 1. An official letter from the Rabbinical office of the Jewish community in Jerusalem, signed by R' Hillel Zaks (1931-2015). He was the founder and rosh yeshiva of yishivat Knesset Hagedolah in Kiryat Sefer. He was the son of R' Mendel and Faiga Chaya Zaks (the youngest daughter of Rabbi Israel Meir Kagan, author of Chofetz Chaim). 2. R' Dr. Shmuel Zanvil Kahana, son of R' Shlomo David Kahana (Jerusalem), grandson of R' Shmuel Zanvil Klepfish (Warsaw). His signature is on a card to lawyer Chananiyah Bower on his bar mitzvah, 1964. 3. Signature of R' Isser Shapira, head of the yeshiva "Shaarei Torah", on a receipt from said yeshiva. 4.Signature of R' Yehoshua Kaniel of Haifa on a ketubah from 1956. Excellent condition. 5. Signature of R' Yitzchak Meir Ben Menachem on a ketubah dating back to 1942. Excellent condition. 6. Signature of R' Yisrael Aryeh Sapir (Petach Tikvah) on a ketubah from 1948. Excellent condition.
