Album of Colorful Prints and Pressed Flowers from the Holy Land, Large Format

Flowers of The Holy Land, Blumen aus dem Heiligen Lande, large album with color prints and pressed flower arrangements. The album contains 18 colorful (autochrome) prints of sites in Palestine (the Western Wall, the Mount of Olives, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Jaffa Port, Bethlehem, Hebron, Haifa Bay and other sites), and 18 pressed flower arrangements, mounted on facing pages. The album is bound in a fine olive wood binding with a leather spine. Carved on the front of the binding is a Jerusalem cross inside a colorful frame made with very delicate inlay work. Printed on the back binding is the inscription "Jerusalem" in English and Hebrew, inside a frame identical to the one on the front binding. Approx. 32X23.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and defects (mostly to margins; the prints are clean). Small tears to margins. Front binding detached, with a crack along its breadth. Defects to spine.
