Significant: Handwritten Glosses on the Zohar by Rabbi Yosef Zundel Salant

Sefer Zohar on Vayikra, Bamidbar and Devarim with many handwritten glosses by Rabbi Yosef Zundel Salant.

Part of the glosses were likely written according to the nusach of the Vilna Gaon, and there is also a full page of handwritten supplements at the end. In addition, there are many glosses written in Sephardic script, some of which are signed. 

This copy was published in Kushta in 1736 with supplemented pages from another edition.

Rabbi Yosef Zundel of Salant (1786 - 1866) was a close disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin who taught him many traditions from the Vilna Gaon. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael where he made his mark on the Ashkenazic settlement there. He was the father-in-law of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, and Rabbi Yisrael Salanter was his disciple.
