Carl Anton (born in 1722) was a convert and a professor of Jewish languages in the University of Halmstadt. The Jewish name of Anton was Moshe Gershon Hacohen and prior to converting to Christianity in 1748 he was a disciple of Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschutz.
