"Proposal to found a Hebrew city in the Negev – Beersheba", by Zvi Yehuda (Salzman). Nahalal, 1943.
Mimeographed plan for founding a Hebrew city of 1000 families in Beersheba. "Based… on the assumption that to conquer the Negev, founding agricultural settlements will not suffice. It is also vital to found a Hebrew city in their midst… According to the government population count in 1931, the city numbered 2959 Arab residents who composed 545 households and from that time, the settlement has not grown significantly".
The author, Zvi Yehuda Salzman (1887-1965), was one of the founders of Nahalal and a leader of the Moshavim Movement. He served as a Mapai MK in the first Knesset.
Not in NLI. One copy in OCLC.
10 leaves. 26.5 cm. Good condition. Folding marks, light creases and stains (particularly to the first and last pages and to margins). Tears, some open to margins (most are small). Small staple holes.
