HaRav Mi'Liadi U'Mifleget Chabad, by Rabbi Mordechai Teitelbaum, Toshia Publishing, Warsaw, 1913. [2] volumes.

Thorough biographical work about the "Admor HaZaken," Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, also known as the "Baal HaTanya," and the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The first volume discusses  the rabbi's history and the second expounds upon his methodology. The leaf subsequent to the first part's title page features a picture of the Baal HaTanya, and musical notes for one of his melodies. Parallel German and Hebrew title pages.

In the publisher's preface, Rabbi Shmuel son of Levi Yitzchak Schneerson wrote that unlike the books that were published previously - which narrate only wondrous tales regarding the Admor HaZaken's forefathers, whether true or false, and thus imagine their duty fulfilled - this author clarified all the necessary details, including the stories' credibility and sources, and obtained important documents; and only on this basis wrote his book. He ensured the full credibility in the stories' transmission, and moreover wrote them objectively, without any additions, hypotheses, opinions, and views of his own.

It is said in the name of the Rash"b that the author "well understood" the Admor HaZaken's way and methodology, and he [the Rash"b] cherished his book.
