Zecher Tzedek upon the passing of the leader of the entire diaspora, the true tzaddik, the world-renowned Rabbi Akiva Eiger Ztzuk"l, Av Beit Din and Rabbi of Posen the capital, by one who became covered with the dust of his feet, Mordechai Lowenstam, son of Rabbi Aryeh Leib ztz"l. Breslau 1838.
Eight stanza lamentation - regarding the gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger, Hebrew and German on facing pages. Additional lamentation of twelve stanzas, titled 'Davar B'Ito' which compares the Tanna Rabbi Akiva and the departed Rabbi Akiva Eiger. [In one of the stanzas, it is written: 'Tears spilled upon his grave' - this according to Rabbi Akiva Eiger's will, where he instructed that he should not be eulogized at all, except in the place of his grave.]
[6] leaves, 21 cm. Title page in Hebrew and German. Owner's inscription on title page: 'Dov Ber Prishland' and 'Catriel son of Zev.' Rare.
