Impressive Serving Dish Made of Silver and Glass - From the House of the Lubavitcher Rebbe
A serving dish made of glass and silver, which belonged to the Lubavitcher Rebbe and his wife the Rebbetzen Chaya Mushka Schneerson.
On the upper part of the silver stand, engraved initials of "MS" - Mushka Schneerson.
The dish was kept by the family of Mrs. Mara Galperin, who for fifty years was a close friend of the Rebbetzen Chaya Mushka. They were friends since the 1930's. With the rise of the Nazis, the Rebbe and Rebbetzen moved from Berlin to Brooklyn while Mrs. Galperin remained in Europe. She miraculously survived the Holocaust and when the war ended, she reached the USA, penniless. The Rebbetzen, who was known for her benevolence, gave her friend her some of her personal belongings, among them the dish before us.
