[JOHN II]: (1275-1312) Duke of Brabant. Also known as John the Peaceful. A rare 13th century ducal charter, issued in the name of John II, one page, oblong 9.5 x 4 parchment, Belgium, Thursday before St. Denis, 1295, in old French. The Duc authorizes Guy Van der Achten to sell to Jehan de Tomba two “bonniers” of land (equivalent to three hectares) in the Filford department. Bearing a ducal brown wax seal at the base of the document. A cleanly written document in fine condition. A large tear above the seal as a result of the weight. Overall age wear. G £400-500
