She'erit Yosef – Salonika, 1568 – First Edition – Signature of the Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Ha'Levi Author of 'Or Ha'Chashmal' and Additional Signatures – Nice Copy
Sefer She'erit Yosef on fixing leap years and calculating calendars by Rabbi Yosef ben Shem Tov ben Yeshu'ah Chai. Salonika 1568. Printed by Yosef ben Yitzchak Ya'avetz. First edition.
The book contains commentaries, charts of tekufot, solar and lunar systems, by Rabbi Daniel ben Prachya Ha'Cohen; rhymed signs of the parshiyot by Rabbi Shmuel Ha'Cohen, translated into Hebrew by Rabbi Yosef Vizino.
The author, Rabbi Daniel ben Prachya, was one of the rabbis of Salonika, the son of a prestigious family, who succeeded his father as head of yeshiva and Dayan of the Italian community.
A special book: on the title page, on its reverse side and on other leaves of the book there are flowers, the logo of the printer Ya'avetz. Charts, tables and an illustration of an open palm.
(As in many other copies, this copy does not contain the 30 leaves with the commentary by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto on the charts).
On the reverse side of the title page: a poem praising the book by Rabbi Shmuel (ben Rabbi Prachya) Ha'Cohen.

Signatures and Stamps that appear on the leaves of the book
The stamp of Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Ha'Levi, one of the rabbis of Jerusalem who was born in it. The grandson of the author of 'Mateh Aharon'. He was sent as a Shadar (emissary) to Greece. In 1855, he was appointed the rabbi of Ioannina in Greece, a position which he held for fifty years. Before his death, he ordered his sons to send his books and Kabbalistic manuscripts to Jerusalem. From these, the booklet 'Kuntras Or Ha'Chashmal' was printed in the book Zimrat Ha'Aretz (Jerusalem 1932).
At the beginning of the book and on several other leaves, ancient signatures, stamps and inscriptions.
At the end of the book, the signature of Rabbi Yosef Duran, maybe he is Rabbi Yosef ben Rabbi Tzemach, one of the most prominent rabbis of Algiers and a Dayan of the Beit Din of Rabbi Yehuda Ayash.
An ownership inscription handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yonah ben Rabbi Binyamin Duran from 1668. (maybe he is the son of Rabbi Binyamin Duran who was one of the rabbis of Algiers who wrote Novellae on the Rambam).
Throughout the book, 12 short glosses of lingual corrections and the like and a long scholarly gloss by different early writers.
[93] leaves.
