Charles Houry was a Belgian painter born in Soignies in Belgium in 1823 and died in Paris in 1898.
Painter of genre scenes, portraits; Painter on porcelain.
A naturalized Frenchman, he was a pupil of Leon Cogniet at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, while working at the Sevres factory as a porcelain painter.
From 1850, he exhibited at the Salon de Paris.
Auguste-Prosper Bernard was his pupil.
