R. Meir Eisenstadt (1780-1852) was one of the most distinguished and revered disciples of the Chasam Sofer. He was held in tremendous esteem by the Chasam Sofer, his rabbinical cotemporaries as well as the masses. He served as Rav in various communities, most notably Ungvar.
