Jordanian & Israeli "No Service" mail: 27 XII 1951 surface mailed comm pm cv ex LIVERPOOL to hydroelectric plant NAHARAYIM " Jordan", tied by machine cancel & manuscript notation "printed matter rate"; the plant was briefly occupied by Iraqi forces, May 1948, but held by Israel - here cv missent there via Jordan (per address), b/s 8 AP 52 J'LEM transit where marked "no communication" using Jord. K-Type-I h/s & returned to UK; then resent, correctly to Israel via HAIFA but as addressed still "Jordan" erroniously marked "Pas de Service via Israel" (K-Type-H-I.2) and returned again - and resent a 3rd time, now reaching the plant (noted "warehouses" in Heb. manuscript). Postal history gem: the only known example of mail marked by both Arab & Israeli "no service" marks.
