From 1946 some a/m to J'lem was routed ROME-BEIRUT-DAMASCUS (or v/v)-AMMAN-JERUSALEM; in 1948-49 War, Syria forwarded all mail for Palestine (usually J'lem) via Jordan, who would assess whether it should be delivered. Bet. Jan-Mar '49 this mail link cut by war & a/m couldn't be routed from Syria to Jordan, here using instruct. cachet (K-T1). As all known affected mail (less than 5) was to J'lem this cv very rare as to TLV (only one known) + rarely seen Beirut routing.
