Esther scroll. [Poland, 19th century].
Ink on parchment. Script typical of Poland in the first half of the 19th century (Beit Yosef script); the column of Haman's ten sons in Vellish script. Opening word in large script and decorated. In four places, enlarged letters spell out the four-lettered Name of G-d. Unusually wide columns, 43 lines per column – only seven columns in the entire scroll (including one column for Haman's ten sons).
Height of parchment: approx. 31.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Wear and creases. Some marginal tears.
