DERECH CHAIM OF THE MIDDLE REBBE (THE MITTELER REBBE OF CHABAD) – YASSI, 1859
The book Derech Chaim by Rabbi Dov Ber Schneerson, the Middle Rebbe of Chabad. Yassi 1859.
On the title-page, signature and stamp of Rabbi Baruch Reichman, a descendant of Chacham Zvi, Safed. Rabbi Reichman served as a Shadar (emissary to raise funds for the Holy Land).
His father was Rabbi Aharon Moshe Reichman, head of the rabbinical court in Navitanitz, Galicia. After his immigration to Israel, he lived in Safed, serving as chief rabbinical judge in Tiberias. He was a Hassid of the author of the 'Divrei Chaim' of Sanz. Author of the book 'Eretz Chemda', published by his son Rabbi Baruch.
Additional ownership notes. On the first pages there are long lists of Chabad and Kabbalah books and the schedule of their study.
In addition, there is an early signature: "I have bought … to honor my G-d, Moshe K[?]"
