This newspaper was the journal of the level-headed among the members of the Old Yishuv.
The issue from 10.5.1914 – an interesting issue with fascinating articles and interesting advertisements in the spirit of the time.
The title-page is dedicated to a painful article about the many disagreements among the members of the Jewish settlements in the country. The article describes the, in detail. There is also an article about the sinking of the 'Colombia', which departed from Antwerp to New-York. There is also an article about the building of the large well [!] in the Technicum in Haifa, an article about an exhibition in Rehovot and additional items from Israel and around the world.
Among the advertisements, one is most outstanding, that of the workshop 'Sha'arei Torah' in Jaffa, which announces "that the casting department has finally been arranged beside the welding department … and it casts all kind of mechanic things as well as housewares and utensils for the shop…"
The workshop was affiliated to the 'Sha'arei Torah' Talmud Torah. They were under the supervision of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Coehn Kook, who was then the rabbi of Jaffa.
Another advertisement is for "the factory for roofing tiles of the Syrian Orphanage Schneler". The camp of Scheneler was a Syrian orphanage, which later served the English and Israeli armies. Now, a neighborhood is about to be built there while preserving the architectural structures.
There is also an advertisement of the Kozranovsky Hotel in Hebron. Until 1929, Hebron was considered a holiday resort due to its fine air and many members of the Yishuv went on vacation to the city.
