“May G-d bless you from Zion” – a printed letter for the sake of Dagestani immigrants in Jerusalem – Jerusalem

Call for community fund-raising for “Dagestani Jews, part of Israel that left their homeland and have come to the holy city of Jerusalem... a community of souls, poor and elder students, and their hunger-stricken babes… none pity nor support us, the Ashkenazi claim they receive no money from the state of Dagestan. The Sephardic… [claim] we know you not, why do you burden us?”
Jewish immigrants from Dagestan (Makhachkala, north-west of the Caspian sea, east of Georgia), did not find them place among the Kolel handouts for the poor of Jerusalem, as they are neither Ashkenazi nor Sephardic. In this notice they admit that, given their pitiful condition, five of their community reluctantly approached to the Mission for financial support.
