Lithography – “The Shape of the Holy Land”

A colorful lithography, which is a very special and impressive map of Eretz Yisrael, including its boundaries and cities, the tombs of the righteous and holy sites from the Bible. There are delicate illustrations and details of structures, orchards, and rivers. Four holy cities are emphasized: Hebron, Jerusalem, Tiberias and Safed. Below each illustration is the name of the site in Hebrew, English and German, and inscriptions in these languages appear around the map.
The lithography was printed by Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Solomon Pinia, a resident of Safed, who specialized in creating maps of the country. The map before us was first printed in 1875 in Hebrew and German.
Good condition. There are some stains, especially on the margins and there are some slight tears.
