A proclamation by the Teachers Association in Israel, the Jerusalem Branch, from 16.1.1919.
A proclamation of an appeal to the residents of the city to use only the Hebrew language. Amongst some of the teacher’s statements was the following,: “ The responsibility of this generation is great and onerous … We live at a historical time which parallels no other time in history… please preserve our national property… which is now of utmost importance, our Hebrew language!.. the people of Jerusalem we must place the revival of the Hebrew language as one of the utmost importance.”
