תיאור מסעו של אב המנזר הצרפתי Pierre Auguste Raboisson במצרים, בסיני, בארץ ישראל ובסוריה.
שני כרכי הספר כוללים יחד כ - 150 לוחות-הדפס – הדפסים שנעשו על-פי תצלומים המתעדים נופים, דמויות ואתרים שונים בארץ ישראל ובסביבותיה, ומפות.
בין המפות: מפת סיני, מפת ירושלים, מפת ארץ ישראל, ועוד.
האב Raboisson היה צלם חובב שלמד את מלאכת הצילום זמן קצר לפני המסע המתועד בספר שלפנינו.
על אף שכתב כי כל ההדפסים המופיעים בספר זה נעשו על-פי תצלומים שצילם במהלך מסעו, בהמשך התברר כי חלקם נעשו על-פי תצלומים של פליקס בונפיס ושל צלמים אחרים.
